Membership

Overview

Twice each year, a membership class is held for anyone interested in the Christian faith or anyone interested in understanding Covenant’s distinctive purpose and beliefs. The class is led by ruling and teaching elders of the church and provides an informal format for instruction and interaction with church ministry leaders.

The membership class is required as part of the process of church membership. Attending the class, however, in no way implies a commitment to join the church.

The Shepherding Commission, comprised of elders from Covenant's Session, receives individuals into membership. A new member is received in one of three ways:

  • By profession of faith in Jesus Christ (this applies if the person has never confessed faith in Christ publicly, and it often includes baptism).
  • By transfer of church membership (the prospective member writes for a letter of transfer from his previous church home).
  • By reaffirmation of faith (this applies when someone has professed Christ before but is now uncertain about the status of previous church membership).

For more information regarding the membership class or church membership, please call the church office at (863) 646-9631, or fill out Covenant's Membership Application and email it to the church office.
